He was named to his current position of General Counsel and Secretary of Energen and each of its subsidiaries in 2003. He has also served as Vice President - Corporate Development of Energen since 1995. He is a member of the Alabama and Florida Bar Associations and is a Florida certified public accountant. He is a member of the boards of directors of the Birmingham Metro YMCA and the Alabama Region National Conference for Community and Justice. He is a former member and past president of the Vestavia Hills Board of Education. He is a graduate of University of North Carolina and University of Virginia School of Law.
