Energen Corporation is a diversified energy company focused on its growing oil and gas exploration and production business and its strong, stable natural gas utility.

The dramatic expansion of Energen’s oil and gas operations over the past 12 years has translated into an impressive history of stock price appreciation and earnings growth. Over the last five years, Energen’s earnings growth rate and total shareholder return have averaged more than 30 percent a year. And the Birmingham, Alabama-based holding company is proud to have increased its cash dividend in each of the past 25 years.

Representing 85 percent of Energen’s net income, Energen Resources Corporation is a Top 20 independent exploration and production company on the basis of its U.S. proved reserves. Historically an acquisition and development company, Energen Resources today is generating organic production growth of some 4-5 percent a year and is pursuing the potential offered by multiple shales in north Alabama.

Energen’s natural gas utility, Alabama Gas Corporation (Alagasco), is the largest distributor of clean-burning natural gas in Alabama, serving approximately 450,000 customers in north and central Alabama.
