Energen 2007 Art Competition Winners Named
Alexandra Mears of Gardendale won the Energen Grand Prize and received $5,000 for her work "Gray Cardinal." Mears is originally from Russia. Everett Hatcher of Birmingham won the Alagasco Wildlife Division and received $2,500 for his work "Twin Toms." Richard Vevle of Mountain Brook won the Energen Resources Landscape Division and received $2,500 for his work "Winter Wonderland." Mary White Sowell of Birmingham won the Merit Award for Non-Representational Art and received $2,500 for her work "Cheaha." Amy Crews of Birmingham won the Energen Employees Award and received $2,500 for her work "Cahaba Lily." Each year, Energen donates the proceeds from the event to a local non-profit organization. This year's recipient, Pathways, received $5,000. Energen Corporation is a diversified energy holding company with headquarters in Birmingham, Ala.
