How do I apply for a job posting?
To apply, just visit our career center and view our current job openings. See all of the jobs we have available, select the job title to view the job description. If you choose to apply, the Energen online application form will be presented. This form is used for both corporate and subsidiary applications.
What resources do you use to hire personnel?
We use a variety of resources to locate potential new employees, including online job postings, State Employment Service, and college recruiting.
How often do you update your job listings?
We update our job opportunities as new positions are identified and as activity occurs on current postings.
What are the steps in Energen’s hiring process and how long does it take to complete the process?
Energen is dedicated to finding the right person for the right position. If we determine you meet the qualifications of a current opening, a member of our recruitment team will contact you with further instructions, such as completing an online application. The length of the process depends on the type of position being filled. A thorough pre-employment screen is conducted on all candidates to whom an offer is being considered. This screen may include, but is not limited to, verifying your work and education history, a criminal background investigation and a drug screen.
Will I be notified of the status of my resume after initial submission?
Due to the quantity of resumes we receive, we’re unfortunately not able to contact individuals with specific feedback. However, you will receive an email acknowledging receipt of your submission. If your skills and qualifications match the position for which you applied, a company representative will contact you.

Employees are expected to maintain an appropriate business appearance that adheres to the requirements of the area in which the employee works and reflects professionalism and a positive personal and public image. Employees who work in office environments are expected to project professionalism through dress that is “business” or “business casual”.
Does Energen provide any training opportunities to help with career advancement?
Employees at Energen have many opportunities that are made available to them to assist with their career development. We offer a variety of online courses to help employees improve and increase their skill sets.
Are unsolicited search firm and agency submissions accepted?
Energen does not accept any unsolicited resumes from search firms or agencies. Any unsolicited resumes will be considered property of Energen and Energen will not be obligated to a referral fee. This includes resumes submitted directly to hiring managers without contacting the corporate Human Resources Department.
I don’t have an email account. Does this mean that I cannot apply for a position with Energen?
You will need an email account to apply for a position. Email is our way of communicating with you to let you know we have received your application, update you on the status of your application, and provide other information. If you do not have access to email and want to apply, there are several free email services available on the internet. You can go to any search engine (e.g., Yahoo, Google, Hot Mail, etc.) and type “free email” to get a listing of the web sites that provide this service.
